Skintillating, Scortching Skin

5 out of 5

Skin enticed, titillated, and turned me on. So far this is easily my favorite show at this venue. I have been watching this troop perform for years and I can say that they keep getting better and better. I felt they used to be one of the weaker groups, but this year they hit it out of the park by simply adding in a few delights.

The emcee was amazing. Not only did they find a man with a voice tailor made for announcing, but he can also eat fire. People say leave the fire at home, but it's awesome to see something unique while you're waiting for the other talent to come on. He is probably a professional announcer and if not, he should be.

They also added in the 2 finest things at fringe this year; Dion and Big J. MEN. They are men. And boy are they fine men. Burlesque needs way more men. I love to watch burlesque for the art that it is, but being a woman and watching nothing but other women can be a bit boring. But I rarely, ok I never see, the men. Zion brought humor to his first piece, so when he came on again, I assumed I was in for more of the same, which would have been a complete tease considering how smoking hot he was. But instead he blew me away. I do believe there was drool on my face. And Big J was not only dreamy, but a fine dancer. I actually forgot to scream and clap because I had to keep picking my jaw up off the floor. They had two of the finest dances I have ever seen. I hate to say this, but without them this show would have fallen flat on its face. That brings me to the rest of the show.

The first dancer being a belly dancer sure knew how to shake it. She can shake it like no one else. She is also the stage kitten. This is were there could have been a bit of improvement. She could have been a bit quirkier. Maybe come out in more than the lingerie and camp it up. Perhaps start out with some clothes and accidentally let them fall off and then you have to pick them up as well. It just could have been a little better.

Then the dominatrix number was a bit stiff.

Now for Nada the beautiful fan dancer. The duet with Big J won me over and was visually stunning. I also like the number behind the screen. However, I've been watching you and I know you could have done much more with the fan dance. Nada is one of the finest fan dancers I've seen and she can do so much more. But only gave us an abbreviated version.

This could win best of its venue and I can't wait to see more next year, but for the love of God don't let the men get away!
