Stagehands: The Musical by Snapshot Theatre

Clever idea and nice musicality but not well developed

I thought this was a creative concept, and I would like to see it developed.

Andyís singing was appealing, and his sidekick had a nice sense of dry humor, well-timed. They and the stage manager had strong characters and pleasant singing. There was some creative choreography, especially in the song about mopping. The music was enjoyable, although I didnít leave humming a tune or repeating clever lyrics.

The opening nearly closed it for me. The very long overture was not supported by interesting visuals. There were long moments of nobody on stage; when someone did come in, it was in dim light with no action that I could see.

I thought the whole show was too laid-back. Backstage is chaos, and it would have been more interesting to have seen things go wrong and how stagehands had to fix them.
