Bernice at Bay is a superior Fringe offering. When a show consists of essentially one person/one character, everything hinges on the writing and the acting, and this one serves it up in style. Bernice is a truly memorable creation! Marilyn Lynch plays her to perfection, aided enormously by the sparkling and witty script by playwright Nagle Jackson. As an audience member, you feel like you have a seat at the O-kay Diner, watching all the goings-on in a masterfully constructed setting of time and place. The play's themes touch on nostalgia and the consequences of seemingly random acts, both personal and communal. Stay for a second helping with the show's companion piece, The Butterfly Effect.
